CSO SOLIDARITY SUMMIT, EXPO AND TOUR 2023

Are you a civil society actor, do you run an organisation or are a policy enthusiasts who is interested in the evolution and the changing tide for the CSOs in Africa and world over...if you have answered yes to those few questions, this Summit is for you.

TRANET-Africa in partnership with the University of Arusha, Dunia Salama Foundation, (DUSAFO) and Eritrean Movement for Democracy (EMDHR) are organizing a tripartite event comprising of a tour, expo and summit to be held at The University of Arusha under the theme ‘‘Recognize, Review, Rethink and Re-strategize’’ With the aim of fostering awareness about the positive contribution of the civil society organizations to the socio-economic development within Africa, review the current operating environment and  rethink the negative narrative and perception that reinforces biased and stringent legal environment for CSOs about CSOs, and re-strategize on how civil society can collectively be harnessed by both the public and the private sector for inclusive development while enhancing a fair working environment.

What is the purpose of the Summit. the Summit is a tripartite  event comprising of a tour, expo and Summit to enhance awareness about the contribution of CSOs to the development of countries, foster a positive narrative and perception from both the state and the public about CSOs, demand for a convenient operating environment for CSOs, review the current working environment and re-strategize on how to collectively harness the power of civil society in fostering socio-economic development and a legal environment that fosters local philanthropy for CSO sustainability.

This summit is expected to attract over 1000 people from the public who shall participate in the exhibition and is expected to attract over 100 CSOs and government agencies as well as several private sector institutions to showcase their products and services. The summit shall attract about 500 delegates.
